December 16, 2024

By Kim Crawford, VP of Sales and Marketing, Dedicated Computing

Last week the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL was the place to be for I/ITSEC 2024. This year’s conference in the ‘sunshine state’ did not disappoint with an impressive speaker line-up, 18,000+ attendees representing 60 countries and 500+ exhibitors all under one roof. The theme of this year’s conference the Need is Now was reflected in the sessions as well as throughout the show floor.

The conference agenda and exhibit floor touched on several industry trends including generative AI as well as the latest technology developments for virtual training solutions.  I/ITSEC continues to be the event for the biggest players in the training and simulation industry. It has never been a better time for Dedicated Computing to display some of its most innovative technologies that continue to enhance safety and efficiency in both military and commercial applications.

Training and simulation markets are reimagining existing high-end simulation solutions as more portable and flexible.

Many thanks to VRgineers for providing their VRG Portable Trainer to highlight in our booth, which was a huge draw by attendees looking to experience an airplane simulation.

VRG’s Portable Trainer, is a lightweight trainer that is fully virtual with VR headset representing cockpit and out-the-window views.

It was evident walking the show floor the shift to small form factor systems is reshaping the modern training and simulation landscape.  Flexible, portable systems are bringing high performance to the point-of-need – making a difference in convenience, cost, accessibility and results – while advancing crucial capabilities like augmented and virtual reality.

In addition the Dedicated Computing’s booth also displayed a complete GPU server with a number of GPU cards highlighting its many capabilities. As part of the rack display attendees were able to see a DC Assure appliance in action as well as the opportunity to interact with DC Assure showing ease of navigation and features available from the DC Assure tool.

Our goal for this year was to showcase a number of cutting-edge digital technologies designed to enhance immersive experiences and boost mission readiness. If you missed us at the show below is a summary of the highlights:

  • Haptic sense technologies from SenseGlove
  • Mixed reality and portable training solutions from Vrgineers, Inc.
  • Dedicated Computing’s own line-up of embedded computing solutions, from data centers to tactical edge deployments.
  • Also SenseGlove for providing their Nova 2, which enabled attendees to feel VR objects in the palm of their hands.
  • Technology modernization was another key topic at I/ITSEC and we have developed a service to help OEMs and prime contractors deal with EOL and server component obsolescence.
